FAQ’s

How safe is salt therapy?
Salt therapy is 100% natural, safe, and chemical free. It has no known associated negative side effects.

Is it safe to attend salt therapy if I am pregnant?
Salt therapy is recommended for pregnant women only after the first trimester (4 months is perfectly safe). In cases of complicated pregnancies or medication needed during pregnancy, it is advised to speak with your doctor before undertaking salt therapy treatment.

Are children and babies welcome?
Yes, children and babies from 6 months are very welcome at The Salt Sanctuary.
We have a designated area for children to watch TV or play with toys during their salt therapy session. One adult can accompany each child free of charge. A child session lasts 45 minutes.

How long does a session last?
An adult session at The Salt Sanctuary is 45 minutes.
Kindly arrive 5 minutes early to allow time for putting on shoe covers, taking a bathroom break, and having a drink before your session. This helps maintain the room's pristine environment.

Can I bring water into the room?
Food and drinks are not allowed in the room. We provide filtered water, and you're welcome to drink as much as you like before or after your session. If you feel the need for water during your session, you can have some at the front.

What should I wear?
You don’t need to wear anything special—just your everyday clothes. Take a seat in one of our comfortable chairs, put your feet up, relax, and enjoy the benefits of The Salt Sanctuary. While the salt won’t ruin your clothes, it may leave a bit of dust on darker clothing, especially black, so we recommend keeping that in mind.

How does salt therapy work?
The tiny salt particles, along with the clean environment, controlled temperature, and humidity, create a space free from bacteria and allergens. This can help reduce inflammation in your airways. As you inhale the salt, it travels through your sinuses and lungs, clearing mucus, absorbing moisture, and killing bacteria. It may also lower levels of Immunoglobulin E, an antibody linked to allergic reactions like Hay Fever and Asthma.
For skin conditions, the salt can help relieve itching, heal cracks, and reduce inflammation. It’s also believed to improve blood circulation and balance pH levels.

How many salt therapy sessions do I need?
The number of salt therapy sessions needed varies for each person, as factors like age, overall health, and specific conditions play a role. Because of this, we can't predict exactly how many sessions each individual will require.
Some people may notice benefits after just one or two sessions, while most typically experience improvement after several.
We’re always happy to discuss your needs and expectations with you one-to-one.

How many people are in a session?
Our adult salt therapy session can accommodate up to 6 people at a time. Relax in one of our comfy chairs and enjoy the benefits. Feel free to read a magazine or book, or maybe even take a little nap.
The children’s session can host up to 4 children, along with accompanying adults.
